Ken Wood (Woodsy)
Having served his electrical apprenticeship in Tauranga, Ken started out his career working on the Kaimai Tunnel project for 3 years. He then formed WAM Electrical with a colleague and rounded out the team with the addition of Owen Teague. WAM Electrical went on to become one of the largest electrical/refrigeration companies in the region with over 30 staff.
Ken founded Energy Services and began providing electrical and underground work for Powerlink, a division of Trust Power and also became a preferred contractor for Telecom. Power NZ eventually bought out the company, retaining Ken as manager. However, Ken preferred to run his own business so he founded Tauranga Energy Services soon after.Several years ago, Shaun Wood (Ken’s son) joined as a partner. They changed the business name to Energy Services Tauranga and bought the franchise AirCon Tauranga.
